Update.

Well folks, the last few days have been rather blustery in Britain! And wet. Parts are rather flooded, and I'm glad those I care about are safe and sound. After a pitiful summer, we seem to be doomed for a winter resembling the ice age! I remember for years complaining about the lack of a 'White Christmas', and now they are here year after year in abundance it's not that great. Sure, a sprinkling of snow would be nice on Christmas day, or even a couple of inches in that strange week between Christmas and New Year. But snowfall after snowfall makes gift shopping and the like a risky business. Also the face that I make my poor unsuspecting fiance drive me from Scotland to the English Midlands to visit my folks around this time. Well. . .I say 'make', but that's not true. He enjoys visiting them too, and is kind enough to drive all that way out of his good nature.
Does anyone else have a yearly ritual for Christmas?

I have taken to browsing pinterest and stumbleupon for inspirational images and ideas for my writing, pinterest especially for the board function. Any time I'm stuck I just take a peek at my boards :)

For those fellow bloggers, writers and readers alike, who aren't yet on Wattpad, I highly recommend it. I think I prefer it to Goodreads, and it is awesome for discovering new favourites as well as networking :)

That's all for now I think. Sorry for such a boring post, but I felt my blog was being neglected. Poor blog.

Chain Writing!

Ok, just for fun, I'm starting a "Chain Story". You remember that game, where someone draws a head, folds the paper and passes it to someone who draws the torso, folds the paper, passes. . .etc? If it has a name, I've forgot it. Anyway, I'm thinking along the lines of that; with words. Obviously, we can't fold the screen, but it will be interesting to see where the story is taken. . .and how far it gets.

Copy the post, add your sentence (just one sentence!) and link all previous writers so we can see where it goes!

Thanks for joining in!
Mily.
(p.s. no raunchy bits please!)
(p.p.s- I just realised, if you write a sentence, you'll have to comment on the post you continue the story from, or we wont be able to follow it!)

Water had always fascinated Alex, its eternal journey through history, feeding into life and bearing witness to all that has come and gone; it was beautiful, yet deadly at times.

Incommunicado- Part 3

Tina stared at the message, having not expected such a speedy response. Now what? She had thought she would have a night to sleep on it and contemplate advice or, in fact, what to say. Now it felt rushed and unprepared. Well I've got to say something!

scar22:- Hi Tina. What do you want?
>
>
tina07:- Just to sat hello. It's always nice to meet new people.
>
>
scar22:- Why? What's so special about people? They just complicate things. Make you feel guilty or loved. Lure you in and destroy what you were; make you into what you are now.
>
Wow. This guy is a tough one. What happened to give him such a state of mind?
>
tina07:- Well...I don't get out much. So this is how I socialise, I guess. I need people. They make me feel...normal.
>
>
scar22:- Why don't you get out?
>
>
tina07:- Because...it scares me. Being outside. The open spaces. It's terrifying!
>
>
scar22:- I see.
>
I see? He's certainly not one for talking.
>
tina07:- So, are you afraid of anything? Anyone?
>
>
scar22:- No. Nothing.
>
Now that's a bit rude...
>
tina07:- Okay. What are you looking for? On this site, I mean. Someone to talk to?
>
>
scar22:- Nothing. My therapist told me to come on here. So I did. It keeps her happy.
>
>
tina07:- Do you like her?
>
>
...
Silence. Tina waited for a reply for a few minutes, before the little icon that told her scar22 was online turned red, signalling he had logged out. Well that was productive! She sneered at herself, sarcastically. What was I thinking? She logged out as well, disappointed by her lack of success and moved her laptop onto her desk. She checked the time, it was only half seven, but the conversation had tired her enough to consider sleep. Nipping into the bathroom next door to her room, she washed and brushed her teeth; staring blankly at her own eyes reflected in the mirror. They don't really express much, she noticed. They were dark brown, nearly black, and held no sign of spirit or that so called 'twinkle'. Dead eyes! She thought at them.
The cool, fresh linen of her bed was bliss, and as soon as she had pulled the covers over her body she was encompassed in a cotton cocoon of comfort which calmed her to a feeble sigh of relief. At least in my sleep I can escape myself. . .she mused, before slipping into dreams of sailing on a calm, open sea.

The Scum of Humanity!

Not writing or book related, I know, but I wanted to share this link.
It's a PETA campaign to stop the University of Wisconsin- Madison- running torturous experiments on poor, innocent cats.
All the information and a link to sign the campaign is in the link.

Let's save Double Trouble and his friends!

The Keeper's Kingdom Trilogy Facebook Page

Hi all!
So I've created a facebook page for the trilogy, please feel free to 'like' it! =p
Here's the link --> http://www.facebook.com/The.Keepers.Kingdom.Trilogy

There's not much more on there right now, but I'm going to build it up in time.

I'm currently re-writing my beginning, to paint a better picture of Laelin...here's the what I have so far, as another sneak peek! =) Sorry about any errors, its not been edited yet!

***

Laelin had always been a dreamy girl. She stared up at the fluffy, ever-changing clouds above and wondered what it would be like to float amongst them; as free as a bird, without a care in the world. It was a hot summer’s day, the sky was the brightest blue and the clouds were a pure white. The sun cast its burning rays upon the ground, but she needed not worry, as the cool, shady willow trees she had laid under were more than adequate protection against the heat. This was her favourite place, away from the noise of her home. Seven willows grew at the river bank, their foliage green and lush; hanging down in swaying tendrils to create a pod of peace around the trunk. It was in one of these ‘pods’ where Laelin laid, listening to the river flow by and watching the clouds through the gaps between the branches. Often, she came here to study; to practise her writing and sums, or sometimes simply to read a book. On one occasion, she had brought some paints and an easel- borrowed from her neighbour- but the breeze on that day had whipped the paper around, resulting in more of a smudge than a piece of art. Lately, it had been mostly studying because this was her tenth Cycle in life, and therefore time for her to take the Test.

Music and Gossip!

Hello all! I apologise for my lack of posts...

I've been writy-writing away...fingers clacking away at the keyboard! Had to buy a new notepad too for workings out, it's kinda comic book-esque so I rather like it. Also, the paper is sooo easy to write on. I'm gunna admit, that kind of thing gets me drooling haha! You can't beat a good bit of stationery! And when the pen just glides over the paper it's heavenly! Is it just me, or does anyone else get that?

In other news, we went go-karting for Jamie's (my partner) birthday. Was awesome! But it was my first time (I can't even drive) and I had a 'crash/pile up'. Suppose it added even more excitement and made the day even more eventful, but my finger got a little bashed and it doesn't half smart!

Onto books! Does anyone have any particular music/background ambiance they love to write to? I have a few I guess...a bit of Clutch and other various artists. I'm addicted to Dry Kill Logic right now haha. Also, A Texas Funeral! If you haven't heard them check them out: http://www.youtube.com/user/ATexasFuneralATF

That's all for now, just a wee post :)

Thanks for reading!
