Update.

Well folks, the last few days have been rather blustery in Britain! And wet. Parts are rather flooded, and I'm glad those I care about are safe and sound. After a pitiful summer, we seem to be doomed for a winter resembling the ice age! I remember for years complaining about the lack of a 'White Christmas', and now they are here year after year in abundance it's not that great. Sure, a sprinkling of snow would be nice on Christmas day, or even a couple of inches in that strange week between Christmas and New Year. But snowfall after snowfall makes gift shopping and the like a risky business. Also the face that I make my poor unsuspecting fiance drive me from Scotland to the English Midlands to visit my folks around this time. Well. . .I say 'make', but that's not true. He enjoys visiting them too, and is kind enough to drive all that way out of his good nature.
Does anyone else have a yearly ritual for Christmas?

I have taken to browsing pinterest and stumbleupon for inspirational images and ideas for my writing, pinterest especially for the board function. Any time I'm stuck I just take a peek at my boards :)

For those fellow bloggers, writers and readers alike, who aren't yet on Wattpad, I highly recommend it. I think I prefer it to Goodreads, and it is awesome for discovering new favourites as well as networking :)

That's all for now I think. Sorry for such a boring post, but I felt my blog was being neglected. Poor blog.

Mily.

  1. I probably wouldn't like it snowing all the time either even though, living in Florida I have never seen snow and I love the cold because it's rarely cold enough here to make me want to heat again :P You have to consider though that it was partly the weather that defeated the Romans when they tried to conquer Britain. ;)

  2. I can see how you would like the cold! I use to love winter because its easier to get warm than cool down. But now the sun, when we get it, always puts me in a good mood! I'm jealous though..I'd love to live in a warmer climate! Haha, I'm glad I can always rely on you for historical insight! Britain's natural self defence system! :)

  3. Besides the Celts, yes ;) Haha. Yup, I always thought it's nicer to wrap yourself in a blanket and bury yourself in the couch to read all day than sweltering. But I have a couple movies I love to watch all summer because the make me cold :P

  6. Chuckling over here. I remember when I first moved to Virginia in 1988, no snow at all,not like NY. All of a sudden, in Jan. of 89 it snowed, I cannot remember how many feet, but it SNOWED! Now, every year we get snow and I still remember the comments "You brought the snow from NY" .
    Thanks for the memory.

    1. You're very welcome RevEJ! Glad I inspired a smile :) Does it still snow now? In Britain the snow has been a bit of a disaster the last few years- it was so long since we had decent snowfall, everyone forgot how to manage when the roads become a no-go and the country came to a stand still over a few inches!
I always see the snow and wish I was artistic and talented enough to create one of those snow sculptures!
